Environmental geology involves the application of geological information to understand and solve environmental issues arising from both human impacts on the environment (such as pollution and various hydrogeological disasters) and environmental impacts on humans. Studying these interactions and associated risks is crucial for designing and implementing environmental projects, understanding their impacts on the environment, and anticipating environmental responses to these influences.
